Process

Understanding the Problem

Interviewed family members across three generations to understand how recipes are currently shared and what gets lost in translation between handwritten notes and digital formats.

Accessibility-First Design

Started with accessibility requirements: large text, high contrast, simple navigation. These constraints led to a cleaner, more focused design.

Voice Integration Research

Explored how voice input could make recipe entry easier for users uncomfortable with typing. Designed voice recording features for preserving stories behind dishes.

Emotional Design

Created a warm visual language inspired by vintage cookbooks and family photos. Every detail was designed to feel personal and meaningful.

Outcome

The project helped me understand the importance of designing for all ages and abilities. It became a portfolio piece that demonstrates my commitment to inclusive design principles.
